Don't give all your attention to your enemy.
What was happening before David showed up? Israel was listening to what Goliath was saying instead of what God was saying—they were giving all their attention to what their enemy was saying and doing. It kept them mentally and emotionally defeated.
To be a success, you must determine that you won’t give all of your time and attention to the obstacles defying your future success. Give all your time and attention to what God has placed in your heart—guard your heart. ["Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23]
If God has given you a desire, then you must achieve it.
Whatever God has put on your heart, you need to be passionate about it. Remember that God gave you that desire so that you could complete your destiny and reach your destination—if it’s in your heart, it’s there for a reason.
If you don’t know what sparks your passion, pray and ask Him to reveal what is in your heart. Don’t pay attention at the beginning to any “thing” or “person” beyond God—because there is a reason why you are passionate about one thing and not another. Boil that passion down to its root in your mind—what do you really want? Why do you want it? What’s the reason? You’ll find out what you really want when you find out where your passion lays—and the tip is to never make an excuse for the blessings of God or the visions, goals, and plans for success He’s put in your heart.
